The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 92 calls for service this week.
THEFT OF BIKE
On May 4, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Oak Bay Police were conducting proactive foot patrols in the 1900 block of Bee Street when an individual reported that their $1,500 bicycle had been stolen from a nearby rack.
Officers obtained a description of the bike and reviewed available CCTV video footage. Approximately 30 minutes after receiving the report, an OBPD officer on a police mountain bike located the stolen bicycle in the 800 block of Pandora Avenue, Victoria. Officers attended, confirmed it was the stolen bike, and returned it to the owner. No suspect has been identified at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police are reminding residents to ensure bicycles are properly secured with a high-quality lock and to report suspicious activity promptly. Quick reporting and timely information can significantly assist in recovering stolen property. *See attached photo (File 2026-1256)
