On December 29th, police received a report of two unlocked vehicles being entered overnight in the Tod Rd area. Police remind the public to ensure their vehicles are locked and that nothing of value including charging cords are left inside.

On December 30th, sometime over night or in the early morning hours a gray 2014 Hyundai Accent parked in 2500 block of Cranmore Road was the subject of a hit & run. Police are seeking any witnesses to this incident.

Oak Bay Police conducted an impaired driving roadblock on Cedar Hill X-Road at Crestview Rd. A driver attempted to avoid the roadblock and was subsequently stopped. An odour of liquor was detected and after a lawful demand was made the driver produced a WARN reading on the roadside screening device. The drivers license was subsequently suspended for 3 days.

On December 31st, a male entered Casey’s Market on St. Patrick St and stole almost $300 dollars’ worth of scratch and win tickets. A suspect has been identified from video footage and police continue to investigate.

On January 1st, a small boat motor was stolen overnight from a boat at the Oak Bay Marina. Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the thief or thieves, and remind boat owners to report any suspicious activities near the marina.
