On November 10th at approximately 10 pm police responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Neil Street by Foul Bay Rd. A white Dodge pick-up side-swiped a parked Nissan truck. The impact tore the front bumper off the Dodge truck and the offending vehicle did not stop. The Dodge then turned north onto Foul Bay Rd and in doing so struck a Saturn automobile that was at the intersection with Foul Bay Rd. Again, the Dodge truck failed to stop and continued north. As Oak Bay Police were arriving on scene, Saanich Police were being dispatched to a report of a white Dodge truck striking a further six vehicles and coming to rest in the 3500 block of Richmond Road. The driver, a 50 year old male who resides in Oak Bay, was apprehended in the Saanich area and police are recommending charges for Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident, Impaired Driving, and Driving while over .08 mgs%. Fortunately, no injuries were incurred as a result of these collisions.
