The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 81 calls for service this week.

Theft from Motor Vehicle

On April 13, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle overnight in the 1700 block of Lulie Street. Approximately $2,000 worth of power tools were stolen from a pickup truck, including a Skil Saw, Reciprocating Saw, Power Drill, Oscillating Tool, Job Light, Vacuum, and four “9A” batteries. Theft of Motor Vehicle

On April 14, 2025, at approximately 8:24 a.m., police received a report of a stolen 2015 black Nissan Leaf from the 1800 block of Lulie Street. The vehicle was discovered missing at around 7:45 a.m. and was later recovered by Shawnigan Lake RCMP on April 15, 2025, near Cobble Hill Road without visible damage. Investigation is ongoing. Break and Enter on Beach Drive

On April 14, 2025, at approximately 11:12 a.m., Oak Bay Police received a report of a Break and Enter at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Beach Drive. Several storage lockers, the building’s electrical room, and unlocked vehicles in the parkade were broken into. Stolen items include a red 2020 EBGO model e-bike, bicycle helmets, pumps, and a Department of National Defense firefighter badge. Investigation is ongoing. (File 2025-895)

Road Safety Initiative

On April 19, 2025, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Oak Bay Police conducted a road safety initiative in the 1200 block of Beach Drive. Five motor vehicle violations were addressed, resulting in two violation tickets and three written warnings. (File 2025-960)
