The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 60 calls for service this week.
Traffic Stop and Driving Prohibition
On April 5, 2025, at 10:40 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Foul Bay Road near Townley Road without headlights. The driver, a 42-year-old female, was found to have consumed alcohol and registered a “WARN” on an Approved Screening Device. She received a 24-hour driving prohibition, and her driver’s licence and vehicle keys were seized. (OBPD File 25-819)
Liquor Store Thefts
The Oak Bay Police are investigating two thefts at a liquor store in the 2500 block of Cadboro Bay Road.
On April 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., a male suspect stole approximately $35 worth of beer.
- Description: Caucasian male, 5’10”, heavy build, grey hoodie, black-and-white runners. (OBPD File 25-821)
On April 5, 2025, at 8:40 p.m., a male suspect stole a $15 wine cooler.
- Description: Caucasian male, 6’0″, slim build, short black hair, black hoodie with Maple Leaf logo, white shoes. (OBPD File 25-822)
Police are reviewing surveillance footage and continuing to investigate both incidents.
