The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 79 calls for service that week.

On Tuesday April 26, 2022 police were called to the 2000 block of Eastdowne Rd in regard to a Break and Enter in progress. The complainant found an unknown male in their residence. The male then fled the residence prior to police arrival. The male was located a short distance away and arrested for break and enter by Saanich Police. Property belonging to the residence was found on the male when he was taken into custody. This investigation is still on going. (OB 2022-1174)

On April 27, Police received a report of a stolen black electric cargo Radwagon bicycle from a carport in the 2000 block of Swanson Place. The bicycle has a front basket, with a long rear and a set of handlebars behind the main seat that is used a child seat. A bicycle Giro branded helmet with a charging cable was also taken. This investigation is still ongoing. (OB 2022-1185)

On April 29, 2022, the Oak Bay Police Department received a report that a blue and grey 8 HP outboard motor on a dolly was stolen from the back of a condo building located in the 1200 block of Beach Drive. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. (OB2022-1214)

On April 30, 2022, Oak Bay Police members conducted a road check in the area of Beach Drive at Midland Road, for the primary purpose of detecting impaired drivers. During one traffic stop, the officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. A sobriety check was conducted, and the driver, a 59 year old female was subsequently given a 24 hour driving prohibition. The vehicle was impounded. (OB 2022-1230)

On May 1, 2022, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from auto in 1200 block of St Patrick St. The complainant reported that their vehicle had been broken into. It is unknown if anything was taken. (OB 2022-1234)
