Theft from Auto
On May 2, 2024, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from the back of a pick-up truck in the 2000 block of Neil St. The theft took place sometime on April 27th and was not discovered until May 2nd. The suspect(s) entered the back of the pick-up and stole a Dewalt pole hedge trimmer. The estimated value of loss was estimated at $240.00. The incident was not witnessed or captured on CCTV. Theft from Auto
On May 2, 2024, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Beach Dr. The theft took place sometime that day between 9:30 am and 3:00pm. The suspect(s) entered the back of the vehicle and stole a wallet containing the victim’s identification, several bank cards and a green jacket. The incident was not witnessed or captured on CCTV. No Insurance
On May 3rd, 2024, at 10:11pm, a patrol member was on routine patrol and noticed a motorcycle with no rear light travelling westbound on Cedar Hill Cross road. The patrol member stopped the rider and learned the motorcycle had not been insured for several months. Police records confirmed the vehicle was not insured. The driver was issued a violation ticket for no insurance (fine: $598.00) and the vehicle was towed from the scene. (OB24-1095)
