Theft from Vehicle – Newport Avenue
On December 2, police responded to a report of theft from a vehicle parked at a local automotive business on Newport Avenue. The suspect, captured on CCTV, was observed leaving the property carrying two surfboards and a small bag. The vehicle, a Ford F350, had an open canopy window and entry appears to have been gained without causing damage. Stolen items include two surfboards and a wetsuit. A still photo of the suspect has been distributed for identification (see attached). (File 2025-3417)

Impaired Driving – Cattle Point
On December 4, at approximately 9:00 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Beach Drive after observing a suspicious vehicle parked improperly in the designated boat trailer stalls at Cattle Point. The 43-year-old driver, who held a Class 7 novice (N) license, exhibited signs of impairment and failed two roadside breath tests. A 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition, 30-day vehicle impound, and a violation ticket were issued. (File 2025-3444)
Found dog reunited with owner
On the afternoon of December 6, police were called to the area of St. Patrick Street and Central Avenue for a report of a found dog. Officers located “Sparky,” who was with a nearby citizen. Through a phone number on the dog’s collar, police were able to able to return Sparky to his owner. (File 2025-3480)
