The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 66 calls for service this week.

Arson

On February 11, 2025, at approximately 9:25 a.m., OBPD was called to Oak Bay High School regarding a fire in the girls’ bathroom. Upon arrival, police learned that a fire had been deliberately set in the lower-level southeast girls’ bathroom. The fire was extinguished by school staff. (OBPD File 2025-352)

Project Sea Watch

On February 13 and 14, OBPD, RCMP, and Transport Canada inspected numerous moorings and vessels, educating vessel owners as part of the ongoing Project Sea Watch. (OBPD File 2024-3392)

Theft

On February 13, OBPD was called to investigate a theft from a local liquor store near the 2100 block of Oak Bay Avenue. The investigation revealed that numerous bottles of premium top-shelf liquor, valued at approximately $3,000, were stolen. The investigation is ongoing. (OBPD File 2025-379)
