Hit and Run Collision – Request for Public Assistance

The Oak Bay Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred in the 2400 block of Beach Drive in the early hours of February 7, 2025.

At approximately 11:51 a.m. police received a report that a parked vehicle had been sideswiped at around 5:15 a.m. The vehicle sustained significant damage, including a broken side-view mirror.

A nearby resident provided surveillance footage of the incident. Investigators are working to review the footage to identify the vehicle involved.

The Oak Bay Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has additional surveillance footage from the area to contact Police. (OB 2025-322)

Theft Under $5000.00

On February 9, 2025, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Oak Bay Police were dispatched to a reported theft at a business in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue.

A store manager observed an individual transferring items from a shopping basket into two reusable grocery bags before exiting the store without payment. The suspect was described as a white man in his mid-30s, approximately 6’0” tall, with short brown hair, a medium build, and an unkempt appearance.

Shortly after leaving the store, the suspect abandoned the items, which were subsequently recovered. However, two items were damaged, resulting in a total loss of $11.86. The male was not located.
