Theft of Statues
Oak Bay Police are investigating the theft of two decorative statues from a residential property in the 3600 block of Beach Drive. Sometime between the evening of February 11 and the afternoon of February 14, 2026, an unknown person or persons removed two cherub statues, each weighing approximately 40 pounds, from a rear yard that was not easily visible from the roadway. The statues were described as older and of significant sentimental value to the homeowner. Investigators have noted similarities to a prior statue theft reported in a media release in early January (File 2026-51) but there is no evidence or information at this time to confirm these incidents are related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Oak Bay Police. (File 2026-460) *Note – a photograph depicting a similar statue to the stolen ones is attached.
