The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 76 calls for service this week.
Break and Enter
On June 24th at 04:08 am, Oak Bay Police attended the 3500 Block of Henderson Road for a report of a break and enter in progress. Residents were awoken to the sounds of a female suspect inside the residence in the kitchen. Police arrived and arrested the female who was found in possession of items stolen from the home. Charges of Break and Enter, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code have been sworn against Qiana Hodgins. The accused will appear in court on a future date. (File 25-1673)
Motor Vehicle Incident – Hit and Run
On the 23rd of June 2025 at 1:38 pm, Oak Bay Police responded to a hit and run where a traffic flagger working in the area of the 1500 block of Foul Bay Road reported they had been struck by a vehicle disobeying traffic direction in a construction zone. The complainant suffered minor injuries. The suspect vehicle was described as a White, 2-Door Hatchback. Any witnesses or persons with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Oak Bay Police Department. (File 25-1666)
Community Event – End of Year Youth Drop in Centre
On the 24th of June at 12:00 pm, Several members of the Oak Bay Police Department attended the Oak Bay Youth Centre at 2121 Cadboro Bay Road for the end of year Youth Drop-In Party. Police provided pizza and participated in various activities with over 200 youth and students from Oak Bay High School to celebrate the end of the school year. The youth drop-in program was operated by Oak Bay Police during the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until 1:00 pm. This program encouraged local youth to engage each other and foster relationships with the Police over games, sport and snacks. (File 25-1676)
Traffic Incident
On the 27th of June 2025, Oak Bay Police investigated a motor vehicle in Cattle Point Lookout. The registered owner and passenger were found to have warrants out of Ontario that were not extended for enforcement in British Columbia. During the investigation, open cannabis was observed in the vehicle resulting in sobriety testing being conducted and a ticket being issued for Operating a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Accessible, contrary to the Cannabis Control and Licensing Act. Excessive Speed
On the 29th of June 2025, Oak Bay Police were conducting speed enforcement in the area of Beach Drive near the Victoria Golf Course. At 9:45 pm a motor vehicle was observed to be travelling northbound at 93 km/h in a posted 40 km/h zone. The male driver was served with a ticket for excessive speeding and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days. (File 25-1731)
