DANGEROUS DRIVING
On March 29, 2026, shortly after 6:15 p.m., Oak Bay Police responded to a report of Dangerous Driving after a vehicle followed another for approximately 15 minutes and attempted to collide with it. The affected driver attended the Oak Bay Police and Fire Station seeking assistance, where officers observed the suspect vehicle narrowly avoiding a collision in the parking lot. Police intervened immediately, and the driver was safely taken into custody without injury to the parties involved or officers. The vehicle was towed, and the incident remains under investigation. Oak Bay Police remind drivers that aggressive or dangerous driving places everyone at risk and encourage anyone experiencing similar behaviour to contact police as soon as it is safe to do so. COMMERCIAL BREAK AND ENTER
At approximately 4:40 a.m. on March 29, 2026, Oak Bay Police responded to a Commercial Break and Enter at a business in the 2200‑block of Oak Bay Avenue after an alarm activation. Police determined that a suspect forced entry by cutting a secured metal gate and smashing a side door, before stealing high‑end merchandise valued at more than $15,000. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and remains outstanding. Officers conducted a search of the building, and the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of forensic specialists. Anyone with information, including security or dash‑camera footage from the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact police. (File 2026‑876)
