EASTER FESTIVAL

On April 4, 2026 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Peninsula Co-op hosted the inaugural Easter Festival at Willows Park in Oak Bay. Well over one thousand people attended this family-friendly event. During the festival, police assisted with six reports of temporarily separated children; in each instance, the children were quickly reunited with their families.

Police encourage parents and guardians attending busy events to have a simple plan in case a child becomes separated. This could include choosing a clear meeting spot (for example, a landmark or information booth), ensuring children know a caregiver’s name and phone number, and reminding children to stay where they are and seek help from event staff or police if they cannot find their family.  (File 2026-943)
