EXCESSIVE SPEEDING TICKET- BEACH DRIVE
On May 22, 2025, at approximately 9:15 p.m., an Oak Bay Police officer conducting patrol duties observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Beach Drive near the 900-block travelling at 110 km/h. in a posted 40 km/h zone. The 29-year-old male driver was served a violation ticket for excessive speeding, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days (OBPD 2025-1291)
EXCESSIVE SPEEDING TICKET- BEACH DRIVE
On May 23, 2025, at approximately 7:55 p.m., an OBPD officer initiated a traffic stop with a motorcycle traveling Northbound near the 900 block of Beach Dr after finding it to be travelling 103 km/hr, well in excess of the posted 40 km/hr speed limit. The 26-year-old male driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed and his motorcycle was impounded for seven days. (OBPD file 2025-1301)
BREAK AND ENTER TO MULTIPLE STORAGE LOCKERS- OAK BAY AVENUE
On May 25, 2025, at approximately 11:06 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter to 24 wooden storage lockers located in the underground parking level of an apartment complex in the 2200-block of Oak Bay Avenue. Earlier that morning, a resident discovered their storage locker had been disturbed, with items scattered on the floor. The incident was immediately reported to building management, who contacted police. Officers attended the scene and found that the storage room had been accessed using a key, and multiple locker latches had been pried open. Despite the damage, the locks remained intact. Forensic Identification Services examined the area and observed pry marks on the door. Several items located at the scene were seized for further analysis. The investigation is ongoing.
