Weekly Media Release for May 22 to 23, 2023

The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 63 calls for service this past week.

2023-1415 Assist Federal Agency

On May 24th, the Oak Bay Police and Transport Canada were at Willows beach conducting paddle board and pleasure boat education and enforcement. Four paddle boarders were educated regarding the Transport Canada requirement to wear a life jacket and have a whistle when paddling.

2023-1437 Mischief

On May 27th, at 7:30 am, the Oak Bay police were called to the 300 block of Foul Bay Rd for a report of a mischief to a vehicle. The resident reported someone had removed the mirrors on both the driver’s and passenger’s doors. As police investigated the first call, they located a second vehicle that had its passenger side mirror removed and the radio antennae broken off. No other damage was reported. The estimated damage value is approximately $1,200.00. No suspects have been identified at this time.

2023-1439 Mischief

On May 27th, at 2:10 pm, the Oak Bay Police were called to a second mischief to a vehicle in the 1700 block of Foul Bay Rd. The resident reported they found the right-side rear window of their late model Ford Bronco smashed out. The damage occurred sometime between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm that day. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time.
