Excessive Speed
On May 27, at approximately 10:30 PM, police conducting speed enforcement in the 900‑block of Beach Drive observed a vehicle travelling at 89 km/h in a posted 40 km/h zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, who was operating under learner’s licence restrictions without a qualified supervisor, was issued violation tickets for excessive speed and driving contrary to licence conditions. The vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene. (File 26-1550)
Suspicious Vehicle / Drug Seizure
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2100‑block of Fair Street on May 31 at 9:45 AM. Officers located a parked SUV occupied by a lone male. During the investigation, the individual was found to be in possession of suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional suspected drugs. The driver, who was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle, was issued a 24‑hour driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded. The individual was later released, and charges are being considered pending laboratory analysis of the seized substances. (File 26-1607)
