The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 60 calls for service this week.

On October 17, 2022, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a break and enter to a business shed located in the 2100 block of Oak Bay Ave. The suspect forcibly removed a piece of wood to make entry and made off with a 100-gallon blue bin. Oak Bay Police File 22-3266

On October 18, 2022, an Oak Bay Police officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Ring Road. A traffic stop was conducted, and the officer learned that the 51-year-old, female driver was suspended from driving under the Motor Vehicle Act. The driver was released with a court date in December and a Violation Ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign Section 186 of the Motor Vehicle Act with a fine of $167. On October 21, 2022, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft of an e-bike on the night of October 20, 2022, in the 3000 block of Redwood Ave. A Norco BLT e-bike (valued at $4000), with a grey and orange storage box was locked beside the residence when it was stolen. On October 21, 2022, a citizen attended the Oak Bay Police headquarters and turned in a pair of Apple Airpods Max Headphones that were located near the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
