Theft from Auto

On Tuesday, September 12, at 9:25am, the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a report of a theft from an automobile in the 2000 block of Dewdney Ave. The resident reported that their vehicle had been entered overnight and small amount of cash was stolen. No suspects have been identified. (OB2023-2782)

Excessive Speed

On Sunday September 17, at approximately 12:24am, while conducting traffic enforcement near Fort St on Foul Bay Rd., a 17-year-old male driver was stopped for going 104 km/hr. in a 50km/hr. zone and passing a vehicle on a double solid line. The driver was issued a Violation Ticket for Excessive Speed S. 148(1) Motor Vehicle Act $368.00 and 3 driver penalty points and Cross Double Solid Line S. 155(1)(a) Motor Vehicle Act $109 and 3 driver penalty points, as well as the Notice of Vehicle Impoundment. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OB2023-2838)

On Sunday September 17, at approximately 4:15pm, while conducting traffic enforcement on Henderson Rd near Foul Bay Rd. a 41-year-old male was stopped for going 75 km/h in a 30km/h zone. The driver was issued a Violation Ticket for Excessive Speed S. 148(1) Motor Vehicle Act $368.00 and 3 driver penalty points. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OB2023-2846)

On Sunday September 17, at approximately 7:15pm, while conducting traffic enforcement near Beach Dr and Newport Ave., a 23-year-old male was stopped for going 93 km/h in a 40km/h zone. The driver was issued a Violation Ticket for Excessive Speed S. 148(1) Motor Vehicle Act $368.00 and 3 driver penalty points. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OB2023-2847)

On Sunday September 17, at approximately 8:15pm, while conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Beach Dr and Newport Ave. a 38-year-old male was stopped for going 118 km/h in a 40km/h zone. The driver was issued a Violation Ticket for Excessive Speed S. 148(1) Motor Vehicle Act $368.00 and 3 Driver penalty points. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OB2023-2849)
