The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 75 calls for service this week.
On Monday September 19th 2022 at approximately 11:30am Oak Bay Police responded to reports of a Break and Enter to residence in the 2000 block of Goldsmith St. The occupant of the basement suite heard movement upstairs and found an unknown male inside of the home. The male left, however, the resident then noticed that an iPad and a laptop had been stolen. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 30-40 years old, 5’10”, stubbly hair with a slim to medium build wearing a black hoody, black pants with white stripe and red and black shoes. On Tuesday September 20th 2022 Oak Bay Police were call to the Oak Bay Rec Centre for report of a break and enter. Staff advised that overnight, just after the facility had closed, two suspects entered the facility and attended the Sports View Lounge. The suspects proceeded to collect a number of alcoholic beverages and pre-made sandwiches. CCTV of the entry and theft was obtained from the Rec Centre. Suspect #1 – Black hooded hooded jacket, pants, black shoes. Tattoos on right hand (fingers). Camouflage backpack. Suspect #2 Black jacket, black pants, white clown mask with black hair (wig). On Tuesday September 20th 2022 Oak Bay Police were made aware of vandalism to the salmon sculpture on the Bowker Creek Trail. The top portion of the sculpture had been damaged and broken off some time over night. 22-2955
