On January 14th, police received a report of Theft of Motor Vehicle Over $5,000 that occurred sometime in the last month in the 2000 block of Avondale Road. The owner was on vacation. The matter is still under investigation. 2020-165

On January 16th, police were called to the intersection of Oak Bay Ave and Elgin Rd for a report of Cyclist Struck. The cyclist was eastbound on Oak Bay Ave when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The driver of the vehicle stated he tried to stop but couldn’t. One possible contributing factors was his snow boots. His truck was towed from the scene and he was issued a Level 1 Notice and Order to have his vehicle inspected. The file is still under investigation. The cyclist was able to ride away. 2020-192

On January 19th, police responded to a residence on King George Terrace for a Break and Enter. Supsect(s) gained entry to the house by forcing the door open. The matter is still under investigation and the owner is determining what was stolen. 2020-224 .
