July 11th – A boat was boarded in Cadboro Bay and a number of items of value were removed. The boat sustained minor damage as a result of the theft.
July 12th – A vehicle was stopped during an impaired driving roadblock on Cadboro Bay Road and Eastdowne Road. The driver who smelled of liquor, admitted to consuming “a beer”, and failed on the roadside screening device, not once but twice. The driver was subsequently served with an Immediate 90 day Roadside Prohibition.
July 13th – A single vehicle accident occurred in the 2900 block of Beach Drive at 2:30 am. The investigation is still ongoing but speed appears to be cause. The vehicle lost control, hit a lamp standard, rolled over and damaged a hydro box and hedge. The four occupants were uninjured and fled the scene but were later located in different locations. Given the amount of damage the vehicle sustained it’s a miracle no one sustained any significant injury.
A male entered Fairway Market filled up a shopping cart full of food and left the store without paying before the police arrived. The investigation is ongoing and a suspect has been identified.
A male was located by police in the Oak Bay rose garden at Windsor Park after he was alleged to be masturbating. This is the second instance in the last month where a male has been reported to be performing an indecent act in a public place. The investigation is ongoing.
