Weekly Media Release July 25-31, 2016

On July 27th police received seven reports from various citizens residing in the Plymouth Rd / Cardiff Pl /
Henderson Rd district that their motor vehicles had been entered sometime overnight. In each case the
vehicles were left unlocked and were rummaged through with minor thefts occurring in some of the incidents.
Police remind residents to always remove items from the interior of their cars and to lock their cars when not in use.

On July 27th police received a report of a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed the previous day at the
Cork & Barrel Liquor Store on Oak Bay Ave. A female suspect utilized the counterfeit bill to make a purchase.
She is described as being in her 40’s, 5’05” tall, 180 lbs with long dark hair and a pock marked face.
Police are continuing their investigation.

On July 30th police stopped a motor vehicle for driving with its high beams on. The low beams were not functioning.
Police detected an odour of liquor on the driver and a subsequent roadside screening test resulted in a “Warn”
reading on the breath testing instrument. The driver was issued a 3 day immediate roadside driving prohibition
