Weekly Media Release July 4-10, 2016

Tuesday, July 4th (#16 – 2378): A small boat anchored off shore in the 1500 block of Beach Drive had a number of items removed from it sometime over the past 6 days.

Wednesday, July 6th, : Sometime overnight an insecure vehicle was entered in central Oak Bay. The owner of the vehicle also noticed his bicycle was missing. The unlocked bike was left outside the residence.

Wednesday, July 6th, Three insecure vehicles parked in the north Henderson area were entered and the contents were tossed. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

Thursday, July 7th, (#16 – 2404): Seven vehicles in the central Oak Bay area were entered and the contents of the vehicles were tossed around. On only two occasions was something taken from the vehicles.

Thursday, July 7th, (#16 – 2425): During a bike patrol on the Esplanade, a member observed 4 males inside a makeshift log shelter along with a bong and a bag of what appeared to be marijuana. The investigation resulted in a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia being seized. No charges were sought in this matter.

Friday, July 8th, (#16 – 2426): Three city street lamps were smashed in the 3000 block of Midland Road. The witnesses reported that they heard “youthful” voices outside but didn’t see anyone.

Saturday, July 9th, (#16 – 2438): A residential break and enter occurred in the 2900 block of Foul Bay Road. The suspect(s) was able to remove a few items prior to leaving. The investigation is ongoing.
