On March 9th a boat motor was turned into the Oak Bay Police Department after someone saw it fly out of a boat that was being towed by a vehicle. Please contact the Oak Bay Police at 250-592-2424 if this boat motor belongs to you (file 2020-741 refers).
Theft from Autos for the Week:
Overnight March 7th to 8th: one in the 1500 block of Hampshire Rd. and one in the 2500 block of Cranmore Rd. Nothing was taken from either vehicle.
Overnight March 12th to 13th: one in the 3500 block of Beach Dr. and one in the 3600 block of Beach Dr. Only one vehicle had cards stolen out of it.
Overnight March 13th: vehicle riffled through in 2000 block of Kings Rd. Loose change was taken.

Police responded to numerous hazardous situation calls on March 14th as a result of the high winds. Due to rough waters a boat has washed ashore in the 1400 block of Beach Dr. The owner is aware and will move it as soon as it is safe to do so.
In the early morning hours of March 15th, a traffic stop was initiated and as a result of an impaired driving investigation a male was charged with Refusal to Comply with Demand and was issued a driving prohibition and a speeding ticket.
