Monday, May 18th:
Two insecure vehicles parked in the 2100 block of Granite were entered overnight. Several items of value were removed.
A bus shelter in the 2600 block of Estevan was the target of graffiti. No suspects have been identified.
Three youths were rescued from Trial Island. A resident observed them and was concerned about their safety given the wind and current conditions. Oak Bay Coast Guard Auxiliary was called out and brought the youths safely back to shore. Apparently the youths were not carrying any personal floatation devices.
Tuesday, May 19th
An attempt break and enter occurred to a business in the 2100 block of Oak Bay Avenue. No entry was gained and nothing was stolen. Saanich Ident officers attended to assist with the investigation, which is still active. There are no suspects at this time.
Someone entered Oak Bay Marina and removed several crab traps that were not secured on a boat. No suspects have been identified.
Friday, May 22nd
A driver failed to obey the direction of a school crossing guard who had stopped traffic for students at Willows School. The driver passed the several vehicles in the wrong lane. The investigating member located the driver of the suspect vehicle and served a violation ticket on her for disobeying a school guard.
Saturday, May 23rd
Members of the Oak Bay Police were conducting a Counter Attack road check in the 3400 block of Cadboro Bay Road when a vehicle was stopped and the driver smelled of liquor. The driver provided two sample of breath and failed twice on the roadside screen device. A 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition was served and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
