Sometime during the day on November 26th, an unknown person(s) accessed an unlocked tool box that was in the back of a pickup truck which was parked on Theatre Lane. The person(s) stole a number of power tools with a value of approximately $1200. Possible suspects may be a male and female in their 20’s with dreadlocks and wearing “flowing” clothing. Investigation is ongoing.
Also on the 26th, police responded to assist paramedics and firefighters were called for an industrial accident on a worksite in the 500 block of Beach Drive. The man fell approximately 8 feet after being knocked off a scaffold landing face first on the “blast rock” below. The man suffered some facial injuries and other non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
There were also a number of thefts from automobiles in various areas of Oak Bay. Once again, we remind people not to leave items of value in their vehicles, and lock the car doors. The majority of thefts from autos are from unlocked cars and trucks.
Also, with the Christmas season upon us we recommend that you do not leave your presents and packages visible in your vehicle while you do more shopping. Thieves target vehicles for valuables especially around this time of year.
