Weekly Media Release Sept 18-24, 2017

On September 17th, Oak Bay Police were called to south Oak Bay for a report of a confused male. On arrival, police met with a young male who had ingested an unknown substance which seemed responsible for his mental state. He was transported to hospital for examination.

On September 17th, police were called to an apartment in central Oak Bay for a report of break and enter. Person(s) unknown had entered the apartment and taken a guitar and vacuum cleaner. These items were later recovered by the Saanich Police Department.

On September 19th, shortly after 1:00 AM, Oak Bay Police checked a vehicle parked at the side of the road in north Oak Bay. The owner of the vehicle had just finished smoking marihuana. Police seized a small quantity of cannabis and the owner took a cab home. No charges are anticipated.

On September 19th, police received a report of theft from motor vehicle that occurred sometime overnight in central Oak Bay. The culprit(s) took a wallet and iPad from the vehicle.

On September 22nd, police received a report of theft under from a local marina. Person(s) unknown had stolen a dinghy sometime between September 17th and 21st, 2017. The matter is still under investigation.

On September 24th, police responded to south Oak Bay for a report of mischief. Sometime over the weekend, person(s) unknown sprayed graffiti at several locations including two garage doors.

On September 24th, several members of the Oak Bay Police Department attended the Police Memorial service downtown. The event commemorates police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
