On September 8th at 9:30 pm, an elderly female was reported missing from her home in south Oak Bay. She was located by police on Oak Bay Avenue and returned home.
On September 10th at 12:15 pm, police received a report of a theft from vehicle in the 2600 block of Lincoln Road. A purse was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
On September 10th at 1:00 pm, police received a report of a theft from a car that occurred in the 2200 block of Cadboro Bay Road. A white iPhone 5 was stolen from the unlocked vehicle while the owner went into a store.
On September 10th at 2:15 pm, police responded to a collision between a cyclist and a motor vehicle. Both were southbound on Foul Bay Road when the vehicle turned into the college parking lot, cutting off the cyclist, who was knocked off their bike. The cyclist suffered injuries to their face and head. The vehicle suffered minor damage. The incident is still under investigation.
On September 10th at 2:45 pm, police responded to a report of a pellet gun being used in a back yard. One pellet struck a neighbour’s house on Falkland Road. Police spoke to a youth and their parent and discussed the dangers of such an activity. No charges.
On September 11th at 11:20 pm, police investigated a report of theft from a car that occurred on Cranmore Road near the high school in the previous three hours. A ring and a kitchen knife were stolen.
On September 13th at 11:55 pm, police responded to a three vehicle collision on Redwood Ave where the driver had fled the scene. Police arrived on scene and determined that the first vehicle had lost control and skidded into a parked second vehicle, which collided with a parked third vehicle. A wallet left in the first vehicle led police to a nearby residence where the driver was located. There were no injuries and all three vehicles were towed from the scene. Further investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor and the driver was issued an IRP and violation ticket.
